We've had a pretty good response so far to the stupid things idea. We've got several potential teammates - including someone who wants to do as many events as she can, a potential teammate for the two Ohio-based stupid things, someone who is as excited about the Mud Run as I am, someone who is all for the beer at the end of the St. Patrick's Day run, and someone who has no interest in running but suggested he could cook for us after all the running!
Ashifa was miffed that I had added, after her edits, the comment about us leaving our chicken suits at home for the Flying Chicken Run. She was all excited about wearing some sort of chicken attire. And now we have two friends who apparently would be happy to dress as chickens with her. We have also, as expected, encountered the friends who think we are literally stupid for doing this.
The idea that committing to this will force us to actually do something also seems to be working. Tonight it was -3° C and there was frost on the ground. Sounds like a perfect opportunity to not go running, but I went anyway - 3.8 k of run/walk!
